Tropical Strawberry and Pineapple Salsa Bowl
This weekend is suppose to be a hot one, and being that we are expecting warm weather I have the perfect Tropical inspired appetizer to share with your friends and family this weekend while enjoying the weather. I wanted to make an appetizer that is colourful, healthy and wild for the palate. I went with different textures and tastes both savory and sweet and I knew that I had to share my Tropical Strawberry and Pineapple Salsa Bowl . My Salsa bowl is alot different than a traditional bowl because I used fruit in mine as well as the obvious fact, that I used a Pineapple as my bowl.
What I love most about making this Salsa bowl is the versatility in it, it can be eaten by itself, thrown on a salad as a chunky dressing, on a burger; which I will tell you tastes AMAZING or even better, as a topping on a grilled steak or chicken. I love how quick and easy it was to make it literally took me about 20 minutes to prepare and 10 minutes for my family to eat it all. The kicker is the kids had no clue how healthy it actually was!
The key to making the Tropical Strawberry and Pineapple Salsa Bowl taste amazing is letting the Pineapple get a little more ripe than you normally would and also using a little bit of the juice from the Pineapple in the mixture. The acidity from the Limes and Pineapple juice enable all the spices and other ingredients to fuse together and compliment each taste.
Its Tuesday so that leaves plenty of time to master this easy recipe just in time for entertaining this weekend. So get all your ingredients together, get creative you are not limited to using all of the same ingredients that I did. Check out my recipe and enjoy the Salsa party in your mouth you are about to have!
