Maybe your #bornwithit? Maybe its Maybelline

I cannot tell you how obsessed I am with lipsticks, the saying “Diamonds are a girls best friend” totally doesn’t apply to me. When I have a new tube of lipstick I feel like a brand new woman. Maybelline has just launched in Canada 8 new shades of their Creamy Matte lipsticks. Today I will be showing you 4 of the shades that I picked up along with some swatches. Now I love matte lipsticks, they last long on the lips and the finish is just beautiful. The only downfall is many matte lipsticks tend to be on the dry side, therefore leaving the lips feeling dehydrated and uncomfortable. But don’t worry at the end of this post I will share some tips to prepare your pout for a fresh application of matte lipstick.

What I love about the Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipsticks is how light and airy they feel on my lips. Its almost like a mousse texture that is soft on my lips and not heavy. I was elated that Maybelline extended the collection by adding new shades for a limited time that I had to get my hands on a few colours to add to my collection. Yes I know, some of the shades are quite similar to shades that I currently own in my collection but you know when a girl loves her Lipstick like she loves her Diamonds, nothing can come between them.

Of the shades that I picked up Vibrant Violet and Nude Nuance are my favourite. With these shades its easy to see that there are a few dupes in the beauty world that  these would fit in with if you happen to miss picking these up. I picked these up at Shoppers Drug Mart, they retail for about $11 however I am sure Walmart also has the limited shades as well.

Now because Matte lips are on trend this season its important to make sure our lips are prepped and ready to wear them. I have a few tips that I use before I apply my favourite matte shade and of course I had to share them with you! Take a look !

Step :1 Wet a face cloth with warm/hot water and ring it out

Step 2: Gently buff the lips to remove any excess dry skin

Step 3: Follow up with a lip Balm

Step 4: Line lips with liner and fill in entirely

Step 5: Fill in lips with lip colour

You can also do steps 1-3 for an overnight treatment
