L’ORÉAL  Colour Riche Monos Eye Shadows

L’ORÉAL Colour Riche Monos Eye Shadow  have just launched their Spring Collection for 2016. These shadows are the first for this Iconic brand to be infused with a gel formula for extreme colour richness. You have heard me on more than one occasion speak of my love for the L’ORÉAL brand so I was very excited to get my hands on these after seeing many posts on Instagram. The new collection comes with 14 beautiful shades and textures to choose from. The texture and satin finish formulations is enough to want every shade. I kept my composure with that in mind and only picked up two shades to play around with.

The Black and Gold packaging is a L’Oreal  signature look, its simple and chic and are easy to store in your makeup drawer or bag. The application is very easy, the texture is  soft and blendable and quite similar to the L’Oreal Infallible 24 hr eyeshadows in terms of wear ability, usage and velvety texture. When I first used the L’ORÉAL  Colour Riche Monos Eye Shadows I noticed that it worked much better using my fingers rather than the brush. I was able to pack much more colour on without the fallout since the shadows texture it more of a gel/ satin texture using a finger would help better for adhering to my eye lid.

Don’t get my wrong you can use a brush however the application will be much more successful if you decide to use a brush, if it is used wet. The two shades that I picked up are Pain Au Chocolat which is very similar to Mac’s Satin Taupe and Sunset Seine which is an Orange Gold with a slight Copper tone to it. They are the most beautiful shades ever and can be paired with just about anything. For a Drugstore brand I find that the quality of the L’ORÉAL Colour Riche Monos Eye Shadows are a considerable improvement to the Infallible 24 hr wear shadows for the packaging. It doesnt have that annoying insert to keep the product intact to prevent breaking or moving. Which leads me to believe that the L’ORÉAL Colour Riche Monos Eye Shadows are packed tightly enough that they will not break.

Have you checked out the new shadows what are your thoughts on them? Let me know in the comments below.

I have Pain Au Chocolat, too, but I never could get it to give me any color payoff. I’ll definitely try using my fingers next time. Thanks for the tip!

I saw those in the store the other day and thought the colors were pretty and vibrant. I wasn’t sure about them b/c I didn’t know how they’d look on skin but they look nice!
